What We Do

Our Programs

Comprehensive support designed with and for the visually impaired community — from housing and employment to social connection and daily living skills.

What We Offer

Support at Every Step

In Plain Sight offers a continuum of services that meet people where they are. Whether someone is newly diagnosed, long-term blind, or supporting a loved one with vision loss, our programs are built to empower — not just assist.

Housing Stability Program

Safe, stable housing as a foundation for everything else.

We work alongside individuals and families navigating housing insecurity compounded by vision loss. Our team connects participants with accessible housing resources, advocates on their behalf with landlords and housing authorities, and provides ongoing case management to maintain long-term stability.

  • Accessible housing placement assistance
  • Landlord and housing authority advocacy
  • Ongoing case management support

Workforce Development

Building careers, not just jobs.

Employment is a cornerstone of independence. Our workforce development program provides job readiness training, assistive technology coaching, resume support, and employer partnerships — all tailored to the unique needs of job seekers with visual impairments.

  • Job readiness and interview coaching
  • Assistive technology training
  • Resume and application support
  • Employer partnership network

Mentorship & Peer Support

Connection that changes everything.

Being paired with someone who truly understands your experience is powerful. Our mentorship program connects newly diagnosed individuals with trained peer mentors who have navigated vision loss themselves — offering guidance, encouragement, and community.

    Social Club

    Community, connection, and belonging.

The In Plain Sight Social Club is a welcoming space for individuals in the visually impaired community to gather, connect, and enjoy life together. From events and activities to regular meetups, the Social Club is about building friendships and reducing isolation.

    • Regular community meetups and events
    • Accessible activities for all
    • Inclusive social programming
    • Open to all ages and ability levels
